Wilsons Auctions invests £250,000 into Dalry site
Wilsons Auctions Dalry opens 20,000 sq ft bespoke undercover facility.
Wilsons Auctions, the UK and Ireland's largest independent auction company, has invested £250,000 into its Dalry site with the addition of a 20,000 sq ft undercover facility.
The launch of the new bespoke car storage unit, which can hold up to 200 vehicles, is a welcome addition to the 38-acre site, allowing preparation of the vehicles to be carried out under cover ahead of the auction company's many car auctions.
The Dalry site has the capacity to hold thousands of cars, plant and machinery and the new investment will allow more cars to go through each auction and has resulted in new staff across sales, administration, valeting, appraisers and drivers.
The extension of the facilities comes at a time of celebration for Wilsons Auctions which recently marked its 20th anniversary in business for the Ayrshire branch as well as being named Family Business of the Year at the Ayrshire Business Awards.
Further investment into the local area by the Scottish Government will also see Wilsons Auctions benefit from the new A737 Dalry Bypass creating a direct link between Glasgow and North Ayrshire, making it more accessible for customers.
Speaking of the investment into the site, Wilsons Auctions Director, Gareth Wilson said, "This is a very exciting time for Wilsons Auctions in Dalry not only did we recently celebrate its 20th anniversary but we are now launching our bespoke car storage facility, which was the result of £250,000 of investment.
"At 20,000 sq ft, the new facility is a fantastic addition allowing us to increase our offering of vehicles on behalf of clients and to feed the demand of our customers, as well allowing us to invest further into new staff. This in turn will prepare us for the increase in volume of traffic we expect once the A737 is complete, making it easier for returning customers from the Glasgow and Central Scotland region as well as welcoming new customers," he concluded.
Wilsons Auctions Dalry is one of the group's biggest sites with almost 60 employees and offers approximately 25 auctions per month including cars, vans, plant & machinery, liquidation and disposal, land and property and offsite and online auctions.
