Christmas Jumpers at the ready as we raise money for Save the Children
Wilsons Auctions staff across the group to participate in national charity fundraising event on 14th December!
Staff across Wilsons Auctions are donning their Christmas jumpers this Friday, 14th December to help raise money for Save the Children.
Part of the annual Christmas Jumper Day fundraising campaign for the international charity, each of our branches will be fundraising throughout the week, as well as staff donations, as we attempt to beat last year's total of £2,000.
Donations can be made at each of our reception areas and customers can help us reach our total by simply texting TEAMWILSONSA to 70050 to donate £2 to the charity.
Funds raised will go towards children in the world's toughest places to build a better future. A £2 donation could pay for the antibiotics to treat five children suffering from pneumonia, one of the biggest killers of children.
The money raised with through the Christmas Jumper Appeal can also go towards Rwanda's Reading Revolution, helping to improve children's reading through supporting Rwandan publishers, writers and illustrators to create engaging and educational titles as well as the set up of book banks within schools. This education programme reached 842,000 in 2017.
Save the Children's health and nutrition programmes reached 10.7 million children in 2017, helping families in various ways including helping to build a garden to grow fresh fruit and vegetables having been victims of flooding in countries such as Mexico.
We would appreciate your support as we aim to raise vital funds for this very worthy charity, especially at this time of year, when Save the Children continues to do whatever it takes to make sure children survive, get protection when they're in danger and have the chance to learn.
