Beloved Guitar & Music Equipment to hit the right note for Sligo Cancer Support Centre

As to their late father’s wish, Clara and Emma Meehan are set to raise vital funds for Sligo Cancer Support Centre.

Jim Meehan was both a talented jazz musician and a caring hospice worker. He was hugely respected in the music scene and had a particular passion for jazz music. One of his special moments was getting to play with renowned jazz musicians Gene Bertocini and Rufus Reid in New York many years ago. Jim sadly passed in March 2022.

With music being a huge passion in Jim’s life, he built quite the collection of music equipment and instruments. The collection includes several Guitars, Sound Desks, Banjos, Vintage Magazines & Music Books, Vintage Music DVDs, Amps and much more. With over 90 assets, Daughters Clara and Emma have followed Jim’s wishes to sell his precious collection this March for charity, a year on from his passing.

Presented in a timed online format, Wilsons Auctions will be offering the music equipment at auction. Bidding is online only and will be live for 24 hours, opening at 3pm on Thursday 9th March. Lots will begin to timeout from auction from 3pm on Friday 10th March.

As a request from Jim before he passed, all proceeds raised from the auction will be donated directly to Sligo Cancer Support Centre. This charity provides much needed support to individuals with cancer and their families. CLICK HERE to find out more information on the charity.
